Cleveland-Cliffs (CLF) disclosed that it delivered to U.S. Steel (X) today a letter “demanding” that the company comply with U.S. Steel’s obligations under the right to bid provisions of its basic labor agreement, which the United Steelworkers assigned to the company in connection with offers to acquire U.S. Steel. Cleveland-Cliffs says U.S. Steel must “promptly notify” both the United Steelworkers Cliffs “immediately” after receiving a proposal from any third party.
