Citi executive sues bank over sexual harassment, NY Times reports

Ardith Lindsey, a managing director at Citi, is accusing the bank of tolerating a culture in which male executives sexually harassed her, The New York Times’ Emily Flitter reports. Lindsey’s suit, filed last week, accuses the bank of a “traumatizing experience” and describes a workplace where many women confronted comments about their sexuality and attractiveness and worried that their careers would suffer if they complained, according to the report. Mark Costiglio, a Citi spokesman, said the bank had opened an investigation shortly after Lindsey disclosed her relationship with former supervisor Mani Singh in November 2022 and complained about Singh’s alleged conduct and messages. Singh resigned last November, before the investigation was completed.
