Chinese buyers ‘not keen’ on buying Nvidia’s downgraded chips, WSJ reports

Alibaba (BABA), Tencent (TCEHY), Baidu (BIDU), and ByteDance aren’t keen on buying Nvidia’s (NVDA) lower-powered AI chips and are shifting some orders to Huawei’s China-made chips, The Wall Street Journal’s Raffaele Huang reports. According to people familiar with the matter, Alibaba and Tencent have indicated to Nvidia that they will order far fewer of its chips this year than they had originally planned to buy when it was offering its now-banned products.
