Shares of BuzzFeed are up 91c, or 36%, to $3.41 in pre-market trading after entrepreneur and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy disclosed he holds a 7.7% stake. A regulatory filing disclosing the stake indicates that Ramaswamy believes the securities “are undervalued and represent an attractive investment opportunity.” The investor “will seek to engage in a dialogue with the issuer’s board of directors and/or management about numerous operational and strategic opportunities to maximize shareholder value, including a shift in the company’s strategy,” the filing added.
