U.S. Department of Transportation Chief Pete Buttigieg gave a call for caution for the possibility of disruption in air travel ahead of a deadline for airlines to retrofit equipment to avoid potential interference from 5G wireless signals, wrote Alison Sider for the Wall Street Journal. If an airliner hasn’t been equipped with qualified equipment it won’t be cleared to “land in certain weather conditions when visibility is low starting July 1,” added the WSJ story. Publicly traded companies in the space include Alaska Air (ALK), American Airlines (AAL), Delta Air Lines (DAL), JetBlue (JBLU), Southwest (LUV), Spirit Airlines (SAVE) and United Airlines (UAL).
