Broadcom (AVGO) is slated to receive an EU antitrust warning about the potential anti-competitive impacts of its proposed $61B takeover of VMware (VMW) in the coming weeks, Reuters’ Foo Yun Chee reports, citing people familiar with the matter. The European Commission opened a review of the deal in December last year, saying the agreement would allow Broadcom to limit competition in the market for particular hardware components which interoperate with VMware’s software, the author notes.
