Warner Bros.’ (WBD) “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” won Super Bowl weekend at the domestic box office with an estimated $8.2M from 1,550 locations. Overseas, the movie grossed an estimated $10.4M from 18 markets for a global cume of $18.6M.
BOX OFFICE RUNNER-UPS: Disney’s (DIS) “Avatar: The Way of Water” placed number 2 with another $6.9M domestically and $18.9M overseas for a worldwide total of $2.214B. Behind it was James Cameron’s “Titanic,” earning $6.4M in its 25th anniversary re-release. Paramount’s (PARA) “80 for Brady” placed number 4 with an estimated $6M from 3,939 theaters. Rounding out the top five, Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Universal’s “Knock at the Cabin” grossed $5.5M in its second outing.
