BofA sees little impact to pace of Microsoft copilot development from NYT suit

After the New York Times (NYT) announced that it is suing OpenAI and Microsoft (MSFT) for copyright infringement, BofA said the firm does not see any meaningful impact to Microsoft’s pace of development for its various copilot offerings and sees little to no near-term impact to Microsoft Azure AI revenue. The firm, which sees fair use standards for AI as likely to evolve in coming years, maintains a Buy rating and $430 price target on Microsoft based on the view that the company is well positioned to generate sustained low double-digit growth in the coming three to five years.
