When Boeing named Stephanie Pope as Chief Operating Officer in December, many viewed the move as a sign she might succeed CEO David Calhoun in the next few years, Sydney Ember of The New York Times reports. Now, after the company is facing its second big crisis in five years, Boeing has begun searching for another CEO and Pope is one of several candidates for the position of fixing Boeing. The previous CEO, that many previously thought would be at the company for much longer, stepped down from the position late last month.
