At the end of 2023, all Boeing 737 MAX jets operated by Chinese carriers are back in service, Reuters reports, citing comments CEO Liu Qing made on a Chinese social media post. Following fatal crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia, the 737 model was grounded until it returned to service around the world in late 2020, but Chinese airlines only began to fly them again in January 2023. “All China civil aviation 737 MAXs have resumed operations,” Boeing China CEO Liu Qing said, according to Reuters. Liu also mentioned the company delivered new planes to Chinese clients this year but did not specify which models.
