Brian Birmingham, lead on Activision Blizzard’s (ATVI) "World of Warcraft Classic," told staff in an email that he left the game maker after refusing to give a low evaluation to a worker that he felt didn’t deserve it in order to satisfy a quota, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reports. In 2021, Blizzard Entertainment implemented a process known as stack ranking, in which workers are ranked on a bell curve and managers must give low ratings to a certain percentage of the headcount, the author says, citing people familiar with the change.
