Barnes & Noble Education reports Q2 EPS 46c vs. 42c last year

Reports Q2 revenue $610.4M vs. $608.6M last year. “Our second quarter results demonstrate that the execution of our transformation initiatives is working. The accelerated adoptions of First Day Complete, our innovative equitable access program, and our ongoing operating efficiency and cost-reduction actions are benefiting our financial results. In the second quarter, even with 128 fewer stores than a year ago, we grew the top line, driven by a 3.6% increase in total retail Gross comparable stores sales. This sales growth combined with a $13.0 million reduction in selling and administrative expenses drove a 28% increase in consolidated Adjusted EBITDA to $50.3 million,” said Michael P. Huseby, Chief Executive Officer, BNED.
