Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is up 3 from last week to 542 with oil rigs up 2 to 418, gas rigs unchanged at 118 and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 6. The U.S. Rig Count is down 46 rigs from last year’s count of 588 with oil rigs down 70, gas rigs up 22 and miscellaneous up 2. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 13, down 7 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is up 3 from last week to 189, with oil rigs up 2 to 128, gas rigs up 1 to 60 and miscellaneous unchanged at 1. The Canada Rig Count is down 22 from last year’s count of 211 with oil rigs down 16, gas rigs down 6 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
