Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is up 1 from last week to 548 with oil rigs unchanged at 418, gas rigs up 1 to 121 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 9. The U.S. Rig Count is down 37 rigs from last year’s count of 585 with oil rigs down 64, gas rigs up 22 and miscellaneous up 5. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is up 2 to 17, down 1 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is up 5 from last week to 198, with oil rigs up 7 to 136, gas rigs down 2 to 61 and miscellaneous unchanged at 1. The Canada Rig Count is down 19 from last year’s count of 217 with oil rigs down 17, gas rigs down 3 and miscellaneous rigs up 1.
