Baker Hughes reports U.S. rig count down 6 to 578 rigs

Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is down 6 from last week to 578 with oil rigs down 5 to 474, gas rigs unchanged at 101 and miscellaneous rigs down 1 to 3. The U.S. Rig Count is down 25 rigs from last year’s count of 603 with oil rigs down 22, gas rigs down 2 and miscellaneous down 1. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is down 3 to 11, down 8 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is down 6 from last week to 114, with oil rigs down 6 to 68, gas rigs unchanged at 46 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is down 2 from last year’s count of 116 with oil rigs up 8, gas rigs down 10 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
