Apple and its suppliers are working to build over 50M iPhones in India annually within two to three years, Rajesh Roy and Yang Jie of the Wall Street Journal, citing people involved in the matter. If this was to be achieved, India would account for a quarter of global iPhone production, while China would remain the largest producer. Apple believes the push into India has gone generally well and is now laying the groundwork for bigger expansion, sources added.
