According to people familiar with the matter, Anglo American has held conversations in recent weeks about De Beers with luxury houses and Gulf sovereign-wealth funds, and has signaled to potential suitors that it is open to offers. The discussions are at an early stage and a valuation has not been discussed, some of the people say.
