American Airlines (AAL) is closing in on an order for about 100 narrowbody jets split between Airbus (EADSY) and Boeing (BA), with Airbus likely to secure the larger part of the commitment, Julie Johnsson, Siddharth Philip and Mary Schlangenstein of Bloomberg report, citing people familiar with the talks. A deal could be announced in coming weeks, although the final mix of Airbus A321 and Boeing 737 Max 8 jets is still being negotiated, sources told Bloomberg.
