After American Axle (AXL) announced that former Cooper-Standard (CPS) executive Aleksandra Miziolek has been elected to the board, Dealreporter told its readers that the new director “has driven the Detroit-based automotive supplier back onto” the takeover watchlist, contacts tell The Fly. “Given past takeover speculation and the company’s current valuation, AXL could be considered a takeover target,” said the M&A-focused publication, which added that “things have gotten a lot more interesting” with some auto company sale experience now in the boardroom, contacts tell The Fly.
