Amazon earlier this month began a fresh round of job cuts as part of widespread layoffs that are expected to total 18,000, with staffers at the company’s AWS, health, Zappos, real estate and delivery businesses among those hit with layoffs, CNBC’s Annie Palmer reports, citing a spreadsheet created after the layoff announcement by an employee. According to WARN filings, at least 2,300 employees lost their jobs in Washington, while over 500 layoffs took place in California, including in engineering and recruiting divisions, while roughly 300 were in New York.
