Out of the Big Four tech giants, Amazon (AMZN) is the most ambitious about invading live sports. with the giant streamer opening its nearly bottomless wallet for the most valuable programming in entertainment, namely postseason NFL football, Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy reports. Prime Video is paying an estimated $120M for exclusive rights to an NFL playoff game after the 2024 season, sources familiar with the matter told the author. That’s more than the $110M that NBCUniversal’s Peacock (CMCSA) paid for an AFC Wild Card playoff game between the Chiefs and Dolphins on January 14.
