Amazon (AMZN) recently completed the second phase of a deal with Anthropic, which was announced last September and involved investing up to $4B in the company, Alex Heath of The Verge reports. The additional $2.75B invested is Amazon’s largest check into another company. Amazon needs to offer AI models through Amazon Web Services in order to compete with OpenAI-powered rival Microsoft (MSFT).
