A Denver, Colorado court will hear the state’s motion to pause the deal between Albertsons (ACI) and Kroger (KR) in a hearing in August and the supermarkets are offering improved spinoffs to ease deal concerns, Bloomberg’s Leah Nylen reports. Judge Andrew Luxen in Denver District Court said he would hold the preliminary injunction hearing from August 12-22, two weeks before a federal court will host its own hearing on the FTC’s attempt to block the deal, the author notes.
