Albertsons (ACI) is one of several retailers that quietly struck stock deals with Instacart (CART) “years ago” that remained a secret inside the company, The Information’s Cory Weinberg reports. According to people familiar with the matter, the partnership with Albertsons was tied to a commercial partnership, and Albertsons stands to profit roughly $80M from its stake. Manewhile, Kroger (KR) also struck a similar stock agreement with Instacart several years ago.
