Affirm is exploring the introduction of a subscription service, Mark Gurman and Paige Smith of Bloomberg report, citing code hidden within its iPhone application discovered by developer Steve Moser. The code indicates the company is looking at charging $7.99 per month for the service, which would offer upgrades for both its buy now, pay later plan users and savings account holders, according to Bloomberg. The subscription service, called Affirm Plus, would guarantee a rate of 0% annual percentage rate on installment loans totaling up to $2,500, according to the code, Bloomberg says. Shares of Affirm are down 7% to $21.49 in midday trading.
