Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but according to a CNBC report, YouTube is likely to pay $2 billion every year for the Sunday Ticket package.
The Sunday Ticket package will be available on YouTube in two ways. It can be availed as an add-on package on YouTube TV or as a standalone a-la-carte option on YouTube Primetime Channels. The second option would allow users to subscribe to different standalone streaming services and channels and also watch movies.
However, YouTube has yet to announce the pricing of these options.
Earlier, AT&T’s (T) DirecTV had the rights to the NFL Sunday Ticket package since 1994 and had been paying NFL $1.5 billion annually after the contract renewal in 2014.
Meanwhile, GOOGL stock scores a resounding Strong Buy from Wall Street analysts based on a unanimous 29 Buys.
