The trading relationship between the U.S. and China has “never been better,” U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said in a Truth Social post. In addition, the White House released a fact sheet outlining the details of the recent trade deal between the two countries.

U.S.-China Strike Deal to Cut Tariffs and Cool Trade Tensions

The U.S. will lower China’s overall tariff rate to 47% from 57% and further extend some Section 301 tariff exclusions until November 10, 2026. In exchange, China will clamp down on the flow of precursors used to make fentanyl into the U.S., “effectively eliminate” its rare earth export restrictions, and purchase U.S. soybeans and other agricultural products.

The agreement marks a major step toward easing trade tensions between the U.S. and China after months of tariff battles and trade uncertainty.
