West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. (TSE:WFG) has released an update.
West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. and Mercer International Inc. have agreed to dissolve their Cariboo Pulp and Paper joint venture, with West Fraser continuing as the sole owner. The Cariboo mill, a significant player in the Quesnel community since 1972, boasts an annual production capacity of 340,000 tonnes of NBSK pulp and employs around 300 people. Mercer will focus on reallocating resources to align with its strategic priorities, while no termination fees are associated with the venture’s conclusion.
