TotalEnergies and OQEP have commenced construction of the Marsa LNG plant in Oman, which is set to become one of the world’s lowest carbon intensity LNG facilities. The plant, expected to begin operations in 2028, will serve as the first marine LNG bunkering hub in the Middle East, supporting the shipping industry’s transition to cleaner energy. This project aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040 by advancing low-emission energy solutions and reinforcing the country’s position as a reliable hub for clean maritime fuel. The Marsa LNG plant will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from ships, contributing to the global shipping sector’s energy transition.
