Sovereign Metals Limited has appointed Dr. Surinder Ghag as Chief Technology Officer – Graphite, enhancing its project team for the Kasiya Rutile-Graphite Project in Malawi, which aims to be the global leader in low-cost, low-carbon footprint natural flake graphite production. Dr. Ghag’s 25 years of experience with graphite and battery anode materials will advance Sovereign’s strategy in qualifying its graphite for lithium-ion batteries. The company’s recent prefeasibility study positions Kasiya to become the world’s largest graphite producer, catering to the electric vehicle market with environmentally friendly and economically viable purification methods.
