An announcement from Norske Skog ASA ( (DE:0BQ) ) is now available.

Norske Skog Skogn plans to enter the European book paper market in the second quarter of 2026 with its new product, NOR Book. The company is investing NOK 40 million to enable its Skogn mill to produce both newsprint and book paper, with a capacity of over 140,000 tonnes. This strategic move is expected to diversify the mill’s product portfolio, tap into markets with stable demand, and enhance long-term competitiveness. The project will not affect newsprint deliveries from the Skogn mill but will reduce newsprint volumes to Asian export markets. The European demand for wood-containing book paper remains stable at around 400,000 tonnes annually.
