New Gold Inc. has announced the appointment of Richard O’Brien to its Board of Directors, with plans for O’Brien to become Chair following Ian Pearce’s retirement on August 1, 2024. O’Brien brings over 40 years of mining and energy sector experience to the role, including key leadership positions at Newmont Mining Corporation and Boart Longyear Limited. The company anticipates a period of increasing production, cost reduction, and transition to significant free cash flow generation.
