Mercury NZ Limited has appointed Suraiya Phillimore-Smith as its new Chief Customer Officer, effective from November 3, 2025. With over 20 years of experience in customer strategy and marketing across various sectors, including financial services and telecommunications, Suraiya is expected to enhance Mercury’s customer experience by providing greater control over energy use and spending. Her appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen Mercury’s market position and operational capabilities, particularly in customer-centric transformation.
