In its latest earnings report for the nine months ending March 31, 2025, Mercari reported a modest increase in revenue by 2.3% year-on-year, reaching ¥144,067 million. The company’s operating profit saw a significant rise of 58.9%, amounting to ¥20,336 million, while the profit attributable to owners of the parent increased by 34% to ¥11,732 million.
Key highlights from the report include the growth in the Marketplace domain, with a 5% year-on-year increase in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) to ¥846.0 billion. The Fintech domain also showed robust performance, with a core operating profit of ¥3.4 billion, driven by the growth of fixed-amount payment credit. In the US market, Mercari’s GMV reached $547 million, with a notable improvement in segment loss due to optimized marketing expenses and cost reductions.
Looking ahead, Mercari aims to achieve full-year consolidated revenue between ¥200,000 million and ¥210,000 million, with core operating profit expected to range from ¥22,000 million to ¥25,000 million. The company plans to focus on top-line growth and enhancing group synergy to drive increased profitability.
