Lithium Universe Limited is advancing its Becancour Lithium Refinery project by applying for 18 MW of green hydropower from Hydro-Quebec, aiming to produce more environmentally friendly battery-grade lithium carbonate. This development positions the company to close the gap in North American lithium conversion processing, leveraging the strategic location of the Bécancour Waterfront Industrial Park for stable and cost-effective energy sources. Chairman Iggy Tan emphasizes the company’s commitment to fast-tracking the refinery’s development to meet the growing demand for lithium.
