HDFC Bank has been penalized by the Additional Commissioner (Central Tax), Telangana, with a fine of Rs. 0.08 crore for the alleged excessive availment of input tax credit for the financial year 2018-19. The total impact of the violation, including tax and penalty, amounts to Rs. 0.90 crore. The bank is considering legal actions, including an appeal, to challenge the order.
