Goldman Sachs has announced a $31 million compensation package for CEO David Solomon in 2023, a notable increase from his $25 million earnings the previous year. The package includes a $2 million base salary and $29 million in variable compensation, with a significant portion tied to performance metrics through restricted stock units. Solomon’s leadership in refining the firm’s strategy and his commitment to client service, the company’s culture, and risk management were key factors in the Compensation Committee’s decision. Despite the short-term impact on performance from strategic changes, Goldman Sachs reported strong financial results, with $46.25 billion in net revenues and $8.52 billion in net earnings for the year.
