Air New Zealand ( (ANZFF) ) has provided an announcement.
Air New Zealand’s 2025 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting highlighted the company’s resilience in a challenging year marked by operational constraints and softer domestic demand. Despite these challenges, the airline achieved earnings before taxation of $189 million and a net profit after tax of $126 million, demonstrating the underlying strength of its business and strategic decisions. However, engine availability issues significantly impacted operations, grounding up to 20% of the jet fleet and resulting in substantial costs. The company received $129 million in compensation from engine manufacturers, but this was less than the estimated costs incurred due to these issues.
