Anthropic said the Paris and Munich offices will help bolster its existing European presence in London, Dublin and Zurich. It also follows recent office launches around the globe in Tokyo, Seoul and Bengaluru as demand for the Claude large language model grows.

“EMEA has become our fastest-growing region, with a run-rate revenue that has grown more than 9 times in the past year,” the company added.

Anthropic, which counts European companies such as L’Oréal, BMW, ‍SAP (SAP), Lovable and N26 as its clients, said its European workforce will span every aspect of its business, from research and engineering to sales and operations.

“Europe is home to some of the world’s most important and forward-thinking companies,” said Chris Ciauri, Anthropic’s Managing Director of International. “The business leaders I speak to are clear-eyed on both the immense opportunity that AI development represents and the critical importance of safety, reliability, and public trust.”

Growth Ahead

San Francisco-based Anthropic, last valued at $183 billion ‍and backed by Google-parent Alphabet (GOOGL) and Amazon.com (AMZN), was formed in 2021 by a group of former OpenAI employees.

Earlier this week Anthropic said that it is forecasting sharp growth over the next few years. The company expects up to $70 billion in annual revenue and $17 billion in cash flow by 2028. That would be a major jump from the $5 billion it projects for this year. The report was first shared by The Information.

Currently, Anthropic’s focus on business clients is paying off. Around 80% of its income comes from over 300,000 corporate customers. Its developer product, Claude Code, has grown quickly and is now near $1 billion in yearly revenue, up from $400 million in July.
