ETF Overview
AllianzIM Growth-100 Buffer5 ETF
AllianzIM Growth‑100 Buffer5 ETF (QBQV) is a structured‑outcome ETF designed to give investors targeted exposure to the Nasdaq‑100 through a defined, short‑term options overlay. The fund seeks to deliver the share‑price returns of the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) up to a capped upside, while providing a buffer that absorbs the first 5% of QQQ’s decline over each three‑month “outcome” period. By resetting the outcome every quarter, QBQV explicitly trades some upside potential for built‑in, time‑limited downside protection.
How it works: the ETF holds QQQ exposure and an actively managed portfolio of FLEX options to implement a tailored options strategy each quarter. FLEX options give the manager flexibility on expirations and strikes to construct the cap‑and‑buffer payoff profile. Over each three‑month period QBQV aims to participate in gains of QQQ up to a predetermined cap and to offset the initial 5% of loss in QQQ’s share price; losses beyond that buffer are borne by holders.
Who this is for: investors who want Nasdaq‑100 growth exposure but prefer a defined, repeatable risk‑management overlay—suitable for tactical allocations, conservative growth tranches, or core‑satellite strategies. QBQV is particularly aimed at those comfortable exchanging uncapped upside for an explicit, short‑term downside cushion and a transparent quarterly payoff structure.
Key trade‑offs and considerations: the buffer is limited to the first 5% of decline per outcome period and is not an absolute guarantee; severe or gap declines beyond the buffer will reduce investor capital. The cap limits participation in strong bull markets, so QBQV may materially underperform QQQ in high‑growth stretches. Option costs, ETF fees and implementation timing can affect returns, and outcomes are measured on share‑price performance as structured each quarter. As with any options‑based, actively managed structured product, investors should understand the fund’s mechanics, reset schedule and potential tracking differences before allocating.
