ETF Overview
Corgi U.S. Equities 10% Structured Buffer ETF
Corgi U.S. Equities 10% Structured Buffer ETF (MAYC) is an actively managed, structured-outcome ETF that seeks to deliver the price return of the S&P 500 exposure (using SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust as the reference) with a built-in, annual downside hedge. The fund combines a long exposure to U.S. large-cap equities with a customized options overlay — implemented primarily through FLEX options — that is designed to absorb the first 10% of losses over each one-year series while capping the fund’s upside above a predetermined participation level. Each protection series begins on May 1 and runs for approximately one year, after which the manager resets strike levels, caps and collateral allocations for the next series.
MAYC’s niche is a S&P 500-focused downside-hedge solution for investors who want meaningful participation in U.S. equity gains but with limited protection against modest market corrections. By purchasing bespoke FLEX options and allocating cash or short-duration instruments as collateral, the ETF seeks to finance the buffer while preserving exposure to equity appreciation up to the cap defined for that series. The active management element gives the portfolio team flexibility to choose strike prices, structure the cap, and manage counterparty and liquidity considerations each year.
Key trade-offs are clear: the fund offers buffer protection only for the first 10% of a decline in the series period and will not protect against losses beyond that threshold; upside is limited above the series cap, so dramatic market rallies will be only partially captured. Investors considering MAYC should view it as a tactical or core sleeve for a portfolio that prioritizes moderated downside risk and defined upside participation, rather than full downside protection or uncapped market exposure.
