As of February 4, 2010, Xcorporeal, Inc. commenced the process of winding down and dissolving, a decision made by its board of directors. To facilitate this, the company established the "Xcorporeal, Inc. Liquidating Trust," to which it transferred all corporate assets to manage the final stages of its liquidation. Previously, the firm operated as a medical device company, focusing on developing an extra-corporeal platform technology intended for devices designed to replace the function of various human organs. The company was founded in 2001 and headquartered in Lake Forest, California.
