XCana Petroleum Corporation functions as an energy enterprise, primarily dedicated to discovering and extracting oil and natural gas resources within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. In addition to its core petroleum operations, the company also operates a diverse technology portfolio through its various subsidiaries. This segment involves delivering computer system integration services, distributing midrange and personal computer hardware, as well as IBM operating system software and utilities, particularly in Colombia. Moreover, it provides Microsoft-centric solutions and acts as a reseller for telecommunications offerings. A significant third area of business for XCana Petroleum is the provision of dial-up internet services to both individual consumers and corporate clients across an extensive geographic spread, encompassing Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, the United States, and Venezuela. The company was founded in 1980, initially under the name Cana Petroleum, Inc., before formally changing its name to XCana Petroleum Corporation in May 2007. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, it maintains subsidiary operations in both the United States and Colombia.
