World Access
World Access, Inc., an Atlanta, Georgia-based company, operated as a global service provider, delivering customer support solutions primarily to businesses in the travel, financial, healthcare, and call center sectors. Its organizational structure involved six distinct entities: three offering comprehensive services and three focusing on specialized support. The full-service divisions included: World Access Service Corporation: catered to U.S. companies and those with staff or customers traveling to North America. World Access Canada: served Canadian enterprises. World Access Asia: focused on clients located in Eastern Asia, including Japan. Its specialized units were: World Access Europe: offered logistical and medical assistance to World Access members throughout the European region. World Access Provider Network Services. World Access Transport Services: handled the management and coordination of all medical evacuation and repatriation services. A notable event for the company was its voluntary petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, filed in April 2001, which also included several of its U.S. subsidiaries.
