Company Description
Telesis Bio
Telesis Bio, Inc., formerly known as Codex DNA, Inc. (and SGI-DNA, Inc. prior to that), is a San Diego, California-based synthetic biology company established in 2011. The company provides a comprehensive suite of instruments, reagents, and services for synthetic biology applications, catering primarily to pharmaceutical and academic laboratories worldwide. Its clientele also extends to government institutions, contract research organizations (CROs), and other synthetic biology enterprises. Among its core offerings is the BioXp system, a groundbreaking platform that empowers researchers to generate endpoint-ready synthetic DNA directly from digital sequences. Complementing this, the BioXp portal offers an intuitive online environment with guided workflows and design tools for constructing new DNA sequences and assembling them into desired vectors. For specific synthetic biology tasks, Telesis Bio supplies BioXp kits, which include essential building blocks and proprietary reagents like its well-known Gibson Assembly products. Additional solutions encompass cloud-based scripts and specialized benchtop reagents designed for post-BioXp system workflows. Through its Biofoundry Services, customers can commission and receive BioXp system-generated products, such as custom genes, clones, cell-free amplified DNA, and diverse variant libraries. The company also performs enzymatic DNA synthesis using short oligo ligation assembly techniques.
