Additionally, Synvista is advancing Alagebrium chloride (or alagebrium), an Advanced Glycation End-product Crosslink Breaker, also in Phase II trials, for its potential application in treating diastolic heart failure and diabetic nephropathy. Beyond its therapeutic pipeline, the firm is actively developing a diagnostic test specifically designed to detect and guide treatment for diabetic individuals prone to cardiovascular complications. Founded in 1986, the company was previously known as Alteon, Inc. and maintains its corporate headquarters in Montvale, New Jersey.
