Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Low Recent Leverage And Positive EquityRecent low leverage and positive equity provide some balance-sheet support, reducing immediate solvency pressure while the company advances its project. This financial position may preserve flexibility for exploration and development spending, although ongoing losses remain a material constraint.
Defined Project Asset With Strategic OptionalityThe Star–Orion South project gives the company a defined asset around which exploration, evaluation, and development can be organized. If it advances, the project could support future mine production or transactions such as joint ventures, farm-outs, financing arrangements, or asset sales.
Loss Magnitude Improved From The 2022 ExtremeThe current loss profile is materially less severe than the exceptional 2022 outcome, with net loss at about $3.8M in 2025 and $3.6M TTM versus $68.8M in 2022. This shows some reduction in loss magnitude, although stable profitability has not been achieved.
Bears Say
No Commercial RevenueThe absence of commercial revenue means the company has not yet demonstrated a recurring operating income stream from its diamond assets. Its ability to fund future work therefore depends on advancing the project toward commercialization or securing external transactions and financing.
Persistent Cash BurnConsistently negative operating and free cash flow shows that the business is not self-funding and must continue using available capital to support operations and project activity. Persistent cash burn can restrict development pace and increase dependence on future financing or asset-level transactions.
Deeply Negative Returns And Shrinking Equity BaseDeeply negative ROE indicates that ongoing losses are consuming value relative to the company’s equity base rather than generating productive returns. The historical period in which debt exceeded equity also highlights capitalization volatility, even though leverage is low in the latest periods.
