Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Strong Cash GenerationConsistent operating cash flow (~€709–754M) and a sharp rise in FCF to ~€454M in 2025 materially improve financial flexibility. Durable cash conversion supports capex, servicing debt, opportunistic investments, and dividend capacity across the next business cycle.
Recovered ProfitabilityThe firm regained positive earnings after 2020 with stable operating margins (EBIT ~4.2%, EBITDA ~9.3%) and ROE ~8–9%, signaling improved operational discipline. Sustained profitability gives a foundation for reinvestment and earning resilience through cyclical auto demand.
Program-based Revenue ModelA business model centered on multi-year OEM series production, customer-funded tooling, and engineering services creates predictable, contract-driven cash flows. Program-based revenue and embedded launch billings increase medium-term visibility versus spot product sales.
Bears Say
Thin Net MarginsNet margin around 1.8% leaves limited buffer against raw-material, energy, or pricing shocks. Even with improved operating cash, low net profitability constrains retained earnings and makes the business more sensitive to cost inflation or OEM price pressure over the coming quarters.
Elevated LeverageMeaningful debt funding (debt-to-equity ~1.18) increases refinancing and interest-rate exposure for a cyclical auto supplier. Elevated leverage limits strategic flexibility, amplifies downside risk in weaker demand periods, and raises the need for sustained cash discipline.
Cooling Revenue GrowthSlowing top-line (revenue down ~1.8% in 2025 and negative recent growth) reduces operating leverage and makes margin expansion and debt reduction harder without new program wins or efficiency gains. Prolonged cooling would pressure cash flow and returns.
