Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. is an energy company primarily engaged in the upstream activities of acquiring, exploring, developing, and producing crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. Its operations are concentrated within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. The company's portfolio includes significant land positions, notably its Clearwater assets (approximately 357 sections in Alberta) and Charlie Lake assets (also around 357 sections, situated in northwestern Alberta). Furthermore, Tamarack holds stakes in the Viking light oil play, which spans central and southern Alberta along with west-central Saskatchewan, as well as the Barons Sand oil play located in the Penny area of southern Alberta. Diverse heavy oil properties are also part of its holdings. Incorporated in 2002, Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. maintains its corporate headquarters in Calgary, Canada. The firm previously operated under the name Tango Energy Inc. until it adopted its current designation in June 2010.
