Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Improved ProfitabilityStrong service growth and elevated EBITDA margins indicate improved operating leverage and customer monetization. If sustained, these gains can strengthen earnings capacity and provide more resources for network investment and competitive positioning.
Fixed And Multi-Play ExpansionGrowth in broadband, television and TMA’s customer bases supports recurring subscription revenue and bundled-service economics. A broader multi-play footprint can improve customer retention and diversify the company beyond declining prepaid mobile users.
Lower Net Financial DebtLower net financial debt improves balance-sheet resilience and creates greater flexibility to fund network upgrades, absorb economic volatility and manage refinancing needs. This is especially valuable in Argentina’s inflationary and uncertain operating environment.
Bears Say
Mobile Customer AttritionThe decline in the core Argentine mobile base threatens recurring revenue scale and may increase retention or acquisition costs. Persistent prepaid disconnections could weaken network utilization and offset growth from broadband, television and TMA.
Antitrust-Mandated DivestituresRequired customer and spectrum transfers directly limit the scale benefits of the Telefónica Móviles transaction. Divestitures and behavioral remedies may reduce market share, network synergies and future revenue potential while increasing integration complexity.
Weak Cash ConversionWeak conversion of accounting profit into cash suggests working-capital pressure and/or high capital spending. Although cash generation remains positive, inconsistent free cash flow could constrain deleveraging, dividends and sustained network investment.
